IBM and Salesforce Form Global Strategic Partnership

IBM and Salesforce recently announced a global strategic partnership that will help companies make smarter decisions with the assistance of artificial intelligence joint solutions. Essentially the partnership will entail both

“IBM Watson, the leading AI platform for business, and Salesforce Einstein, AI that powers the world’s #1 CRM, will seamlessly connect to enable an entirely new level of intelligent customer engagement across sales, service, marketing, commerce and more.”

All of these features except for the IBM Application Integration Suite for Salesforce (available the end of March 2017), will be available the second half of 2017.

IBM’s Watson, structured and unstructured data across many sources and industries and Salesforce’s Einstein, combining deep customer insights will combine “to accelerate decision making and drive greater customer success.”

One example of this combined technological effort is “by combining local shopping patterns, weather and retail industry data from Watson with customer-specific shopping data and preferences from Salesforce Einstein, a retailer will be able to automatically send highly personalized and localized email campaigns to shoppers.

IBM, through the Weather Company, will also offer weather information through its Lightening component which will empower the “Salesforce AppExchange to provide weather insights that inform customer interactions and business performance.”

The IBM Application Integration Suite for Salesforce will allow “on-premise enterprise and cloud data with specialized integration products for Salesforce, surfacing that data directly within the Salesforce Intelligent Customer Success Platform.”

Bluewolf is assisting the further rapid deployment of the combined joint effort by IBM Watson and Salesforce Einstein:

“This new unit capitalizes on Bluewolf’s over fifteen years of Salesforce implementations and their current portfolio of multiple Salesforce and Watson projects. Bluewolf will also develop new industry-specific accelerators used by enterprise clients to accelerate adoption of cognitive applications.”

As a result of the partnership, IBM will be using the Salesforce Service Cloud to better understand its customers and global product support services.
