The 2017 Digital Edge 50 Awards

The 2017 Digital Edge 50 award winners were recently announced and will be honored at the AGENDA17 conference March 20-22, 2017, at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The conference is produced by leading media company, IDG Enterprise, which consists of CIO, Computerworld, CSO, InfoWorld, ITworld and Network World.

In an official statement, the scope of the award program is explained:

“The award recognizes 50 organizations for digital transformation initiatives with significant, measurable business impact.”

The winning organizations represent more than 8 countries and 15 industries.

The number of winners increased to 50 “this year due to the influx in nominations and the sophistication of their initiatives.” The criteria for Digital Edge 50 awards include a variety of technology innovation achievements:

“Winning projects used technology to drive business innovation, including artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), virtual reality/augmented reality, cloud, data analytics, and mobile/smart devices.”

Among the practical applications of the award winning digital transformations

“include clinical uses of new technology, such as a remote disease identification app where a patient coughs into an internet-enabled phone or microphone and the voice file is analyzed for diagnosis; the use of virtual reality headsets in medical education; sensor- and data-driven capabilities for agricultural improvements, beacons that assist employees navigating a corporate campus, data insights for franchise operators, remote building operations and more.”
