The latest release of Android 12 Preview 3 has been revealed. Once again performance, privacy and security are key goals for the update as well as the release being smarter and easier to use:

Android 12 Developer Preview 3 focuses on better user experience tools. The more notable updates include improved app launch experience, new call notification template, new permission for exact alarms, improved web linking, rich haptic experiences, video encoding improvements, camera vendor extensions, quad bayer camera sensor support, faster machine learning, standardizing GPU compute, better debugging for native crashes and more-flexible backup configurations.

App compatability issues have also been addressed in the new release:

“We’re working to make updates faster and smoother by prioritizing app compatibility as we roll out new platform versions. In Android 12, we’ve made most app-facing changes opt-in to give you more time, and we’ve updated our tools and processes to help you get ready sooner.”
