In the past year, Microsoft has doubled its European cloud and has progressively invested three billion dollars there. The European focus is based on Microsoft’s goal:
“To empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more. There’s never been a better time for organizations across Europe to seize new growth and opportunity with the Microsoft Cloud.”
Along with this plan, starting in 2017 will be the introduction of the cloud services data centers providing Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and Dynamics 365 in France. In Germany, Microsoft Azure with Office 365 will be available in early 2017. The currently available cloud services in the United Kingdom are Microsoft Azure and Office 365.
Other Microsoft expanding data centers in Europe include the Netherlands, Ireland, Austria and Finland. The data centers will help meet the increasing customer demand for cloud services in the future. With sixty-six present and future data centers in Europe and worldwide, many Europeans will be utilizing the benefits of the cloud. This list includes the The Ministry of Defence for the United Kingdom, The Renault-Nissan Alliance, Ireland’s Health Service Executive and ZF.
Beyond the advantages of the cloud, other issues arise from this technology. As a result of this scenario, Microsoft has written a book, entitled “A Cloud for Global Good” detailing cloud ethics, security and other subjects:
“[The book] details 78 public policy recommendations in 15 categories to help make cloud technologies more trusted, responsible and inclusive.”
