Apple recently introduced a “dramatically” improved iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus with feature superlatives galore. The new features include an advanced camera system, faster processing and battery life, an outstanding audio experience, redefined sleek design and Apple’s largest mobile operating system yet, iOS 10.
The iPhone 7 and iPhone7 Plus camera system includes a 12 megapixel camera with “optical image stabilization on both…and a larger ƒ/1.8 aperture and 6-element lens enable brighter, more detailed photos and videos, and a wide color capture allows for more vibrant colors with more detail.”
In the iPhone 7’s Plus, another 12 megapixel telephoto camera is added along with original 12 megapixel wide-angle camera. This provides two times the optical and ten times the digital zoom capability. DSLR camera level image quality will also be available with the introduction of intelligent machine learning- coming later in the year. On September 16, 2016, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available to consumers in more than 25 countries globally.
Another advantage of the iPhone 7 series is the increase in processing efficiency and battery life extension. The integration of the newly engineered Apple A10 Fusion chip, “most powerful chip ever in a smartphone”, includes four cores:
“two high-performance cores that run up to two times faster than iPhone 6, and two high-efficiency cores that are capable of running at just one-fifth the power of the high-performance cores.”
The graphics performance and efficiency are also more powerful because of the new cpu structure.
The iPhone 7’s new audio capabilities offer “increased dynamic range of sound and a higher quality speakerphone.” Two avenues for audio consumption in iPhone 7 series are the EarPods with Lightning connector and the new wireless headphones, AirPods. A 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter is available for older headsets and accessories. The new AirPods contain an Apple W1 chip for “better connection, improved sound and industry-leading battery life.” Siri, is also included in the AirPods package.
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus case finishes come in silver, gold and rose gold. Two new black finishes are also available in an anodized matte appearance, and a deep, high-gloss look. The new iPhone 7 series case is now more than ever, both water and dust resistant.
A redefined Retina HD display is the most intense ever in terms of most colorful and bright. A new solid-state Home button works in conjunction with the new Taptic Engine, which “provides more precise and customizable tactile feedback.”
The introduction of iOS 10 is the biggest release ever of the “world’s most advanced mobile operating system.” iOS 10 features include Messages updates, Siri app interactions, 3D Touch improvements and “redesigned Maps, Photos, Apple Music and News apps, and the Home app.”
Developers opportunities have increased for Siri, Maps, Phone and Messages APIs interaction. Indeed, the iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus introduction has bolstered Apple’s image of continually perfecting their smartphone lineup.
