Home buying can be an often complicated process requiring intense and complex decision making based on large amounts of data. It is a huge life decision and people need accurate feedback regarding this.

Zillow, considered to be the most visited real estate app and website in the United States, will now be partnering with Google and have its home-buying guidance featured in a notebook which is part of Google NotebookLM. Offering personalized AI research, NotebookLM is a thinking tool designed to go beyond typical AI and give more than simplistic, elastic answers. Users can ask questions and get responses based on Zillow’s guidance.

NotebookLM essentially connects users and helps them understand complex information. It uses Zillow’s home-buying guides and Zillow Learning Center articles providing citations pointing to the original pages.

When navigating a milestone as significant as buying a home, trusted information is important. This featured notebook, curated by Zillow in NotebookLM, meets home buyers at the start of their journey with answers they can trust, said Steven Johnson, co-founder and editorial director of NotebookLM.

Home buyers can obtain answers to their questions as varied as preapproval vs. prequalification, what typically happens after an offer is accepted, or how to plan for costs beyond the down payment.

The collaboration builds on Zillow’s broader work to use our data, insights and technology to help people through every stage of getting a home, from early exploration and touring to connecting with the right professionals when they’re ready to move forward. It also reflects how Zillow is extending its housing guidance into AI emerging platforms where shoppers are spending time.

The AI advice is not only written advice but also includes “Audio Overviews” which are conversational audio formats bolstering interaction. One such example is where users can listen to two AI hosts discuss topics such as “the first step in buying a home” to “how to choose an agent.”
