The 13th Gen Intel Core desktop processor family recently broke the longstanding processor overclocking frequency world record. Assisted by ASUS, the Intel Core i9-13900K was ramped to 9.008 GHz, breaking the previous world record at launch. โ€‹

The achievement provides desktop enthusiasts and gamers with the best processors and features for PC industry:

The ASUS overclocking team officially set a new world record for overclocking, pushing the 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900K past the 9 gigahertz barrier to 9.008 GHz. Additionally, the team set new records in PIFAST (6.85 seconds) and SUPERPI 1M (3.822 seconds).

Combining the Core i9-13900K with the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX โ€“ and a healthy dose of liquid helium โ€“ the ASUS overclocking team became the latest to showcase the unprecedented overclocking performance in Intelโ€™s unlocked processors.

The new world record was accomplished using liquid helium cooling instead of the traditional liquid nitrogen cooling technique. Overclocking involves running a computer faster than normally possible to reach higher performance processor goals. A few months ago Asus recently achieved World-Leading AI Performance Results.
