Cisco recently introduced a revolution in enterprise networking. Cisco’s visionary network is “an intuitive system that constantly learns, adapts, automates and protects, to optimize network operations and defend against today’s evolving threat landscape.”
The need for this type of network is immediate since network engineers, who now manage hundreds of devices, will manage 1 million by 2020. Another problem is the fact of dated IT processes “managing their networks through traditional IT processes that are not sustainable in this new age.”
One important aspect of Cisco’s system is Cisco’s Encrypted Traffic Analytics. Cisco’s Encrypted Traffic Analytics or ETA utilizes “Talos cyber intelligence to detect known attack signatures even in encrypted traffic, helping to ensure security while maintaining privacy.” Fundamentally, Cisco is essentially “making the unmanageable manageable and allowing IT to focus on strategic business needs.”
Software driven networks will surpass hardware driven ones and “will enable customers to experience a quantum leap in agility, productivity and performance.” The resulting network will be an intelligent, highly secure platform.
The three pillars of Cisco’s new approach are Intent: Intent-based networking allows IT to move from tedious traditional processes to automating intent, making it possible to manage millions of devices in minutes; Context: Interpreting data in context is what enables the network to provide new insights; Intuition: The new network provides machine-learning at scale.
Cisco Digital Network Architecture (DNA) is a portfolio of innovative hardware and software equiping customers to move at digital speed.
