Apple recently debuted the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Available beginning September 18,
both phones present major milestones. These include the most advanced pro camera system, battery life and of course performance:

Camera Features
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max camera system includes many new features. One standout feature is the new 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture. This is considered “the most advanced camera Apple has ever made, bringing aperture control to iPhone for the first time.”
By using Six laser-cut blades permit different apertures to be effortlessly adjusted. Best shots can be achieved by automatically adjusting for depth of field and lighting. This aperture control result in low-light photography, crisper detail in the back of group photos, and unique shots.
Pro controls simplifies camera settings access in Camera app. Users can adjust settings like lens aperture, shutter speed, and white balance, or use a histogram with ease.
With a new computational imaging pipeline, the Main camera is capable of sharper, more detailed shots, and upgraded Photographic Styles with new texture and grain controls round out new camera features.
Other salient features include cinematic effects for videos shot at up to 60 fps, time-lapse mode for videos recorded in 4K and Dolby Vision HDR, Audio Mix for higher-quality voices and isolating music.
Apple Reference Image is another interesting new feature that authenticates original camera images taken on iPhone 18 Pro model:
When a photo is taken in the new Reference mode, the camera captures signed sensor data that Private Cloud Compute develops into an unalterable reference image.5 Reference images can be viewed in the Photos app alongside the main image, like a digital negative, to visually compare the two assets and determine if any edits were made.
Battery Life
iPhone 18 Pro models feature powerful battery life. For example, iPhone 18 Pro charges 50 percent in 15 minutes, and wireless charging up to 50 percent in 30 minutes. iPhone 18 Pro Max, provides up to 30 hours of usage on a full charge. ESIM-only models provide up to 36 hours of video playback on iPhone 18 Pro and up to 45 hours of video playback on iPhone 18 Pro Max.
A20 Pro: Pro Performance and AI
The new A20 Pro with 2-nanometer process technology, is faster than the A19 Pro and its competition. The A20 Pro has a 6-core CPU and 50 percent more memory bandwidth than A19 Pro. Additionally, the new 7-core GPU design is up to 40 percent faster than A19 Pro.
A20 Pro integrated Neural Accelerators drives on-device AI models and computational photography. A20 Pro features a new Dual 16-core Neural Engine, which ultimately includes 32 total cores for double the AI processing power of A19 Pro.
The phone models incorporate N1, an Apple-designed wireless networking chip enabling Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread. C2 is Apple’s next-generation AI-powered cellular modem system, results in improved cellular quality.
Thermal Control
Attaching A20 Pro directly to a next-generation vapor chamber reduces thermal buildup:
With new materials and three times more surface area than the previous generation on iPhone 17 Pro, the redesigned vapor chamber dramatically improves sustained performance and enables up to a 40 percent gain over the previous generation — the highest sustained performance yet.
OS 27 is Here
Both phone models introduce the new Siri AI (beta) rolling out with iOS 27, and powered by Apple Intelligence. Siri AI is considered more personal, capable, and conversational:
Siri AI can draw on personal context understanding to help users find what they need in the moment across messages, emails, photos, and more; use onscreen awareness to take action related to the content on a user’s screen; and answer questions about virtually any topic.

iPhone 18 Pro Recycled Contents
Both phones contain 40 percent recycled content overall. Other recycled items include 100 percent recycled cobalt in the battery and 85 percent recycled aluminum in the enclosure. The phones are manufactured with 50 percent renewable energy, such as wind and solar, across the supply chain.

Both phones will be available in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage capacities. Available in burgundy, glacier, silver, and black, iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 (U.S.) or $49.95 (U.S.) per month, and iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299 (U.S.) or $54.12 (U.S.) per month for 24 months
