Formally known as Project Starline which was started a few years ago, Google Beam takes video communication to a new level. Google Beam is a new 3D video communication platform using AI to enhance communication for individuals using a new generation of devices.

Google Beam uses AI to produce rich and immersive 3D video communication:

Our state-of-the-art AI volumetric video model is what makes these calls appear fully 3D from any perspective. It transforms standard 2D video streams into realistic 3D experiences, allowing you to connect in a more natural and intuitive way.

Google Beam delivers enterprise-grade reliability through the power and scale of Google Cloud resulting in true-to-life 3D video communication. Google Beam also works with existing workflows.

With Google Beam’s AI video model and light field display, realistic simulated face-to-face video interaction is projected- like eye contact, read cues and build understanding.

Speech translation is also in the works allowing people to communicate effortlessly across language barriers. Currently available in Google Meet, the feature “lets you have authentic, near real-time translated conversations while maintaining voice, tone and expressions.” The goal is to “perfectly see and understand anyone around the world.”

Coming Soon
Google Beam will soon be coming to Zoom and HP. At InfoComm, Google Beam devices will be introduced from HP and later this year to select customers. Channel partners, Diversified and AVI-SPL will introduce Google Beam to global businesses and organizations.

Speech translation in Google Meet will initially be available in English and Spanish, with more languages in the coming few weeks.
