Google Allo- a More Responsive, Intelligent Messaging App

Recently Google released the new app, Google Allo, which is described by Google as “a new smart messaging app for Android and iOS that helps you say more and do more right in your chats. Google Allo can help you make plans, find information, and express yourself more easily in chat.”

Smart Reply progressively determines user responses based on previous experiences and can provide quick quips with a quick tap for instant replies. Another useful feature is an immediate reply to a sent photo based on the photo’s content. In other words Allo learns your preferences over time.

With Google’s Allo, chat becomes more enriched with stylized photos, emojis and expressive stickers (exactly 25 custom sticker packs). Some tasks, such as creating emojis and changing text size can be accomplished by “simply dragging the ‘send’ button up or down.”

Another important feature is a preview edition of the Google Assistant. By bringing Google Assistant in the chat conversation, you “no longer need to leave a conversation with friends just to grab an address, share your favorite YouTube video, or pick a dinner spot.” By typing a specific command in Allo, you can multi-chat or just converse one-on-one with Google Assistant instantly.

In addition, Google’s Allo uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) for standardized, encrypted chats. Along with TLS encryption, Google has added another layer of privacy and security: By using Incognito mode “messages have end-to-end encryption and additional privacy features like discreet notifications and message expiration.”
