OpenAI is launching a pilot subscription plan for ChatGPT. ChatGPT Plus is a new subscription plan that will be available for $20/month. Subscribers will receive a number of benefits including general access to ChatGPT, even during peak times, faster response times and priority access to new features and improvements. ChatGPT is a conversational AI that can chat with you, like Google’s new Bard conversational AI, answer follow-up questions, and challenge incorrect assumptions.
ChatGPT Plus will first be available to customers in the United States, and subsequently will later expand access and support to additional countries and regions. Invitations will be through a waitlist over the next few weeks. The move will help keep the current service free:
“We love our free users and will continue to offer free access to ChatGPT. By offering this subscription pricing, we will be able to help support free access availability to as many people as possible.”
OpenAI will also be launching the ChatGPT API waitlist and mulling lower-cost plans, business plans, and data packs for more availability. User feedback and needs will further help refine and expand ChatGPT.
