Samsung recently introduced the Galaxy S8 and S8+ phones. In the design realm, the Galaxy S8's bezel-less, dual-edge display is well, spacious, representing 80 percent of the phone's front. The home, recent and back buttons have been minimalized as a result of the larger display. The curve screen from front to back encourages a steady and comfortable one-hand grip. Whereas the fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor have been placed on the back to maintain the sleek and slimline design aspects. The Galaxy S8 is available in five color themes, Midnight Black, the all-new Orchid Gray, Coral Blue, Arctic Silver, and Maple Gold.

Since the Galaxy S8 is based on the Infinity Display, "the UX is seamless, unifying visual and audio components to create one continuous experience." The Galaxy S8 design language is represented in its app icons and typography in a play of continuous curves and lines. A a new vertical swiping interface helps make a smooth transition from the Home and App screens.

With the Galaxy S8 Infinity Display requires less scrolling and is "optimized for multi-window usability, multitasking is made easy, even when using the phone’s full keyboard." Additionally, "21:9 movies fill the Galaxy S8’s 18.5:9 display, while the black bars above and below the picture are minimized, increasing the viewing area by 36 percent, compared to the Galaxy S7. This, along with the phone’s High Dynamic Range (HDR) Premium capabilities, enables users to see content exactly as the creator intended."

The Galaxy S8 cameras features multi-frame image processing; enhanced image processing; dual-pixel sensor technology, wide aperture and fast autofocus of the 12MP F1.7 rear camera; The 8MP F1.7 front camera has been equipped with enhanced autofocus features and facial recognition technology; easy-to-use filter setting; and animated stickers and stamps.

A new feature of the Galaxy S8 is Bixby, a new intelligent interface: "The intuitive and comprehensive interface leverages contextual awareness to learn users’ habits and provide related information, and is easily activated with a press of its dedicated hardware button or by saying 'Bixby.'"

The Galaxy S8 security had been enhanced by utilizing the "trusted Knox security platform and a combination of new and enhanced biometric technologies." Features such as a highly secure iris scanner, fingerprint scanning, new facial recognition capabilities, Secure Folder and Samsung Pass are included in the new Samsung Galaxy S8.
