Google has devised their “first phone made by Google inside and out.” Some of Google Pixel’s features include rounded edges for better hand grips, 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 (front display and back), an “aerospace grade aluminum body”, a Pixel Imprint, our fingerprint sensor and a long lasting battery that charges seven hours of battery time in fifteen minutes. Another plus of Pixel’s is its ability to run on the Fi network.
Another Pixel bonus is the inclusion of Google Assistant. Say “OK Google” or push the home button to invoke Google’s assistant. The assistant is useful for navigation purposes, conjuring up images, finding closing times of stores, restaurants, etc. and helping to decipher an apps on-screen contents for further evaluation.
Pixel’s onboard camera is excellent quality considering the “DxOMark Mobile score of 89” making it “the highest rated smartphone camera anyone has ever made.” Pixel’s specs include a 12.3MP camera, featuring an f/2.0 aperture and big 1.55 micron pixels for more light capture. Other camera features include Smartburst, Lens Blur and new exposure controls.
Pixel’s operating system includes android’s new operating system, Android 7.1 Nougat. Google Duo and Allo are pre-installed. Another beneficial addition to Pixel is software and security updates that run in the background.
In the area of phone design, Pixel comes in two sizes, “5 (Pixel) or 5.5 (Pixel XL)” and the colors Very Silver, Quite Black and in the U.S., “Really Blue”. The phone cases sport artwork including art and photography from featured artists , and also come in silicone and clear.
