If you already did not catch Apple's new iPhone's at its September 14 "California Dreaming" virtual event, here is a synopsis of Apple's iPhones, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max offerings. All iPhone 13 models have 5G (sub-6 GHz and mmWave), which results in "superfast downloads, high‑quality streaming."
All four iPhone's use the A15 Bionic chip, a step up from last year's A14 chip with a new 6-core CPU with 2 performance and 4 efficiency cores. All four feature a new 16-core Neural Engine. The only difference in the four iPhone's is the GPU type, a new 5-core GPU for the iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max and a new 4-core GPU for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini. The Pro iPhone versions have the "fastest chip ever in a smartphone."
iPhone 13 display shared features for all four phones include Super Retina XDR display, all-screen OLED display, HDR display, 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, True Tone display, Wide color display (P3), Haptic Touch and 1200 nits max brightness (HDR). ProMotion technology with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz comes with the Pro iPhone versions.
Apple iPhone 13 camera has a 12MP camera system (Wide and Ultra Wide) with the pro versions having telephoto capability, Apple ProRAW, 6x Optical zoom range and Night mode portraits. All models include Night mode, Deep Fusion, Sensor-shift optical image stabilization, True Tone flash with Slow Sync, Portrait mode with advanced bokeh and Depth Control, Portrait Lighting with six effects (Natural, Studio, Contour, Stage, Stage Mono, High‑Key Mono), Smart HDR 4 for photos and Photographic Styles.
If videography sparks your interest, the iPhone 13 offers much with Cinematic mode for recording videos with shallow depth of field (1080p at 30 fps), 4K video recording at 24 fps, 25 fps, 30 fps, or 60 fps, 1080p HD video recording at 25 fps, 30 fps, or 60 fps, HDR video recording with Dolby Vision up to 4K at 60 fps, Sensor-shift optical image stabilization for video, 3x optical zoom in, 2x optical zoom out Digital zoom up to 9x, Audio zoom, QuickTake video, Slo-mo video support for 1080p at 120 fps or 240 fps, Night mode Time-lapse, Time-lapse video with stabilization and Stereo recording. ProRes video recording up to 4K at 30 fps (1080p at 30 fps for 128GB storage) comes with pro iPhone versions.
