New Oracle Study Finds Digital Technology, Leadership and Company Values Crucial for Employees Success

Oracle Corporation Survey

A recent Oracle Corporation Survey, initiated by global market research company, Kantar TNS, has found that there are three pivotal areas that determine employees success or failure in a company or organization. They are digital enablement, leadership and values, culture and reward. The study was conducted on 5000 employees employed in organizations with 250 or more employees.

Among the findings, only 44 percent of employees have the most current technology access in the companies in which they are employed. What technology and devices (i.e. mobile, tablet, desktop), employees have in their personal lives, they also expect in their place of employment. According to this survey, this is not currently the case:

“A more modern user experience interface also reflects what they are accustomed to at home.”

Another subject in employee success is leadership in the company or organization. Proven leadership is a barometer for employee engagement and participation. The leadership factor is less than stellar considering that

“only 44 percent expressed that they have confidence in their leadership, indicating a lack of partnership between management and employees.”

Like-minded values are another contributor of employee/company relations. The study found that only “38 percent [of employees] say that their company is concerned about their overall well-being.” Same personal values are considered to be more of a conclusive indicator of employee satisfaction even more than monetary goals.

Another factor in employee satisfaction is an adaptive company culture. For example, such amenities as a

“flexible work schedule, more volunteer or health & wellness opportunities, companies too should now be listening and connecting with employees in more ways that correlate with their personal well-being.”
