Salesforce Set to Acquire MuleSoft

Salesforce (NYSE: CRM), the global leader in CRM, recently signed an agreement to acquire MuleSoft (NYSE: MULE) for approximately $6.5 billion, “one of the world’s leading platforms for building application networks that connect enterprise apps, data and devices, across any cloud and on-premise.” Mulesoft’s 1,200 current customers include Coca-Cola, Barclays, Unilever and Mount Sinai. The deal is expected to close July 31, 2018.

Mulesoft’s role will include powering the new Salesforce Integration Cloud which empowers enterprises to use any data to “drive deep and intelligent customer experiences throughout a personalized 1:1 journey.” As Greg Schott, MuleSoft Chairman and CEO elaborated, “together, Salesforce and MuleSoft will accelerate our customers’ digital transformations enabling them to unlock their data across any application or endpoint.”

Mulesoft will also keep developing the application network, Anypoint Platform. As part of the combined team with the world’s #1 CRM company Salesforce, Mulesoft will be able to “accelerate its growth and deliver even more innovation to its customers at scale.”
